Contents:

1. Categories of metrology, measurement standards, traceability and calibration.
2. Metrological units, the SI system, standard meter.
3. Accuracy and precision, repeatability and reproducibility, errors in measurements.
4. Uncertainties in measurements.
5. International quality standards.

Seminar contents:

Practical classes are based on individual students measurements with geodetic instruments. Procedures for testing geodetic instruments described in ČSN ISO 17 123 are applied to determine and evaluate precision of these instruments.
