- Description:
-
The aim of this course is to acquaint students with promising technologies of production of alternative energy sources (biomethane, biohydrogen) and valuable substances as raw materials for production of eco-innovative materials (bioplastics, composite materials) from waste biomass like agricultural, food, industrial and biodegradable municipal wastes.
- Contents:
-
1. MSW and waste biomass, reduce-reuse-recycle, raw material security, bioproducts, biofuels.
2. Pretreatment of wastes - grinding and milling, drying.
3. Pretreatment of wastes - chemical and hydrothermal pretreatment.
4. Biogas production technology.
5. Advanced bioethanol production technology.
6. Sustainable biodiesel and jet fuel.
7. Gasification and pyrolysis.
8. CO2-to-X conversion technologies.
9. Biorefinery.
10. Waste-2-X strategies - laboratory tour.
